Which ceiling light suits your room?

Ceiling height decides the type: under about 8 ft (2.4 m), choose a flush mount; at 8–9 ft (2.4–2.7 m), a semi-flush mount works well; above 9 ft (2.7 m), there is room for pendants and chandeliers.

Size: add the room's length and width in feet; the total in inches is a good diameter for the light. A 12 ft × 14 ft room suits a light about 26″ (66 cm) across.

Brightness: larger rooms usually need more than one light. Integrated LED fixtures need no bulbs; others list their bulb base.

Every light lists its size in inches and centimetres, the bulb base and whether bulbs are included, and is supplied for your country's voltage. Hard-wired fittings should be installed by a qualified electrician. Not sure which type? Read flush, semi-flush or hanging ceiling light.

Ceiling Lights: frequently asked questions

What's the difference between flush mount, semi-flush and hanging ceiling lights?
Flush mounts sit right against the ceiling, so they suit low ceilings, hallways and bedrooms. Semi-flush mounts drop a few inches below the ceiling. Pendants and chandeliers hang on a chain, cord or rod and need more headroom.
Are bulbs included?
About a third of our best-selling ceiling lights include bulbs or have built-in LEDs. The rest take standard bulbs, most often E26/E27 (medium base), sometimes E12/E14 (candelabra) or G9. The "Bulb Included" and "Bulb Base" lines in each product's specifications tell you which.
Can I dim them?
Fixtures with standard sockets are dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Built-in LED models list their own options, and some have remote-control stepless dimming.
Will they work with my home's voltage?
Most are listed for both 110-120V and 220-240V. Check the "Voltage" line in the specifications for the product you choose.
How long does delivery take?
