Leave about 10-12" (25-30 cm) between the seat and the surface. That means a dining chair with an 18" (45 cm) seat at a standard table, a counter stool with a 26" (66 cm) seat at a kitchen counter, and a bar stool with a 30" (76 cm) seat at a bar-height table.

Most of our dining tables are 29.5" (75 cm) high, and our bar tables are most often 41" (105 cm). Many of our stools come in both counter and bar heights, and the seat height is listed in the specifications.
How many stools fit at my counter?
Allow about 24" (60 cm) of counter length per stool, or 26-28" (66-71 cm) for wider or swivel stools. A 6 ft (1.8 m) island seats three comfortably.
How big a dining table do I need?
Allow about 24" (60 cm) of table edge per person, and at least 36" (90 cm) between the table and the wall so chairs can pull out. A 60" (150 cm) rectangular table seats six.

What features should I look for in a stool?
A footrest makes taller stools more comfortable and is the most common feature in our range. Swivel seats make getting in and out easier at a busy island. Backless stools tuck fully under the counter to save space.
Can I buy chairs and stools in sets?
Yes. Many of our dining chairs and stools can be bought singly or in sets of 2, 4 or more, chosen in the product options.
